Just saw the second flash of light and loud thunder. Snowing so hard I can't see across the street. Street lights just came on. Been snowing since about 5:15 am. I am in Topeka, Ks. The news reports say we are "on track for 8-12 inches".

(60,010 posts)Winter Storm Q has begun dumping snow across Kansas as it brings needed moisture to parched farmland.
Snowfall rates of an inch an hour are possible in north central Kansas.
The heaviest snowfall will extend from southwest to north central Kansas, where accumulations of more than 16 inches are forecast.
Q is expected to dump up to 10 inches of snow and sleet in the Kansas City area, possibly the region's biggest winter event in two years.
Down here in the warmer south, we get another line of thunderstorms.
NE Texas has reported 7 mild tornadoes so far from ..."Q"

Get some pictures if it is safe enough. It would be cool to see.

(8,352 posts)Yesterday morning about this time, we started getting rain. By early afternoon, we were having thundering and snow in Phoenix.
Nothing really stuck here, just enough for a few quick snowballs & mini snowmen.
Stay safe.
