This country needs to change the whole mind-set about weapons, from the ground up.
We, as a country, have the idea that if you break a law, you need to spend time in jail, usually causing you to lose your livelihood in the process. That will somehow encourage you to follow the law next time. How many ten's of thousands, hundred's of thousands of examples already, of that not working, before we realize we can't keep doing the same thing time after time and expect a different outcome.

Even proof of trained cops not being any better than random day laborers are with weapons, doesn't sink in.
This country needs a totally different paradigm toward humanity in general.
