Kudos to State Senator Janet Howell (D-Fairfax) for putting things into the proper perspective! She attempted to add an amendment to a GOP bill that would require ultrasounds for women seeking abortions. This bill is likely to pass given the changed nature of the VA legislature. Prior to the Nov 2011 elections, these types of bills always died in the Senate Education and Health Committee. We are going to be a very different state soon...
Senator Howell's amendment failed but she deserves our thanks.
Here's her proposed amendment:
1. Line 121, substitute, after line 120
