Did they give the pope a special exit? They couldn't just drive him? I guess piety does not exist in the Catholic dictionary.

There are numerous bigger fish to fry here and, as a recovering Catholic, I am not crazy about the RCC but this is a non-issue.

they don't want him to be subject to local authority encountered off church property.
It would be kinda embarrassing to the Church, for the newly ex-pope to be arrested for his involvement in pedophiling.
