Some people in our government voted in favor of violence against women.

A vote is a more or less yes/no proposition. Sure, there can be other reasons to vote one way or another, but generally, it is a real simple thing.

When there is a bill before congress that does as much as it can to protect women from violence, and some elected officials vote against it, using that yes/no concept, they are voting to leave women out there to protect themselves - much as they have since cave men clubbed them and dragged them back to their caves.

Your mothers must be soooooooo proud of you.
