McDonald's getting rid of items from menu

McDonald's getting rid of items from menu

NEW YORK (AP) — McDonald's is getting rid of its Chicken Selects and Fruit & Walnut Salad, as well as considering the removal of Angus burgers.

The world's biggest hamburger chain also says in an emailed statement that it is "evaluating options as it relates to the Angus Third Pounders, and their role on the national McDonald's menu."

The changeup comes as the Oak Brook, Ill.-based company continues tweaking its menu, with plans to step up the number of limited-time offers in the year ahead. Most recently, the chain introduced its "Fish McBites."

In the last few months theres a strange texture to the meat, almost like it has fillers I've never seen before in McD's meat, like they added grain fillers to get more patties per pound.

And the taste is terrible as a result.

This seems a way to entice consumers into stores, creating market cycles as desired. Not so dissimilar from manufactured "Hallmark holidays."

People have to eat. If some people moved upscale to classier dining, that would require more people than McD employs.

But I'm not in favor f shutting McDs down. I do think a proper role of government is to spend a significant amount of money advocating for healthy lifestyle choices. If people chose healthier food, McDonalds would offer healthier food. And that advocacy would employ people too.
