Today was my first day on Medicare. Social Security and PBGC benefits start next week. Hot-damn it's great to tell my GOP friends that I'm on "The Dole"! Funny thing is, most all the GOPers that I know that are my age or older are on "The Dole" too.

(40,416 posts)I am with you. Plus, I will raise you my food stamps. Only a pittance, but they help at the end of the month when I often would otherwise have to choose between eating or driving. Oh. BTW. It's 15 miles to the grocery store (each way).

(Not me, I'm on disability and get SSDI and Medicare, but that *may* change soon due to a potential job lead)

(797 posts)I'm now retired and getting everything supposedly for free.
This getting everything for free is kinda nice, i should have gone this route much earlier in life.
Work hard for a living or get everything for free? the choice is a no brainer.
