(CNN) -- When I saw the headlines about Sean Hannity getting into a shouting match with a Democratic congressman this week, I assumed the combative and conservative Fox News host had just gone off on him.
I was wrong.
Hannity was trying to conduct what we in journalism call an interview. But from the first words out of his mouth, Rep. Keith Ellison came prepared to pick a fight.
It was good television, I suppose, but it's hard to say it was enlightening.
Ellison began insulting Hannity from the get-go, Hannity pushed back, and the pugilistics were under way.
After I criticized Ellison in an online video, Fox-bashers, Hannity-haters and others started with the nasty tweets.

It's actually an amusing read written by someone who is completely divorced from reality.

(23,664 posts)I lost all respect for Kurtz when that asshole DJ with the cowboy hat called him a "boner nosed beanie wearin Jew boy" and Howie defended him when NBC fired him for racist remarks.

(64,931 posts)a joke. He is nothing more than a gossip columnist and loves to rub elbows with the conservative beltway media/pundits. A waste of newspaper, ink, and bandwidth.

(38,437 posts)Ellison had no desire to be interviewed -- he wanted to rage at Hannity and nothing more.
Hannity deserved it; the prelude to the interview was a hideous, unprofessional bashing of Obama with inflammatory language.
Sorry, but somebody needs to be an adult about this. Ellison had his chance but decided to join Hannity in the gutter.
