100 years ago Sunday: Woman Suffrage Procession in DC. Remember.

On March 3, 1913 - the day before Woodrow Wilson's inauguration - thousands marched in DC for suffrage and their rights, and hundreds were hurt in attacks that the police failed to stop. It was a very important day in the history of the struggle for women's rights - aka human rights - in this nation, and its Centennial should not go unnoticed here on DU. Great courage was displayed that day, and it paved the way for suffrage and more.

And much more. Easy to search, and well worth it.

Doesn't anyone want to note this tremendously important Centennial, and acknowledge the women who were beaten that day as they stood up for their rights?

...and many, many thanks to the brave women who led this and many other marches!
