Snowquester forecast for mid-Atlantic region Wednesday

Gotta love these names they come up with. Good chance of a big storm mid-week; stay tuned.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/capital-weather-gang/post/major-winter-storm-eyes-washington-dc-and-mid-atlantic-for-midweek-snowquester/2013/03/03/da29188e-842e-11e2-98a3-b3db6b9ac586_blog.html

Conclusion

A strong storm is expected to be located somewhere near the North Carolina coast by Wednesday morning. Some or many parts of the metro region would get a significant snowstorm that could result in power outages if the worst case scenario plays out.

This system is a very dynamic one that the models right now are aiming squarely at our area. Surface temperatures are expected to be right at the cusp between being cold enough for accumulations or being just a little too high to support accumulations in the city. This is a storm to monitor closely. It has the most potential since the Commutegeddon storm of January 26, 2011.

1. My area will be putting the little plows on the light pick-ups to plow the sidestreets.

Really, my Mom's driveway snow plow guy at least uses a large pick-up.

But then they're in Michigan. You know how that is.

In DC now, but back to TC hopefully next year for semi-retirement (fingers crossed).

That's why I said it.

You've posted TC photos more than several times.

I'm from a little known but really nice area about 20 miles south of Ludington. It's much less expensive, and Ludington and even Muskegon are trying to attract those retirement and semi-retirement dollars with a lot more to do.

If you find that TC is a little too hard on the wallet, I'd suggest Ludington or Manistee. You'd be surprised.

And yes, we have cherries. In my area, which is quite agricultural, we start with asparagus season and go through fresh Christmas trees, with everything else in between!

Besides, you're name gives you away.

And after the 2.5 feet we had last month, I'm happy with that. I just now got to see my yard again.

I put my snow boots away and he said that does it! you've pissed of mother nature and she will take revenge with this snowstorm. I just laughed...isn't it funny that well educated, progressive people can be so superstitious?

They are my go-to site for all things weather in the DC area. Detailed explanations, no hype.

BTW the comments on the "Snowquester" name are worth reading. Some truly brilliant remarks.
