(37,162 posts)Bullshit. The number is bullshit, but Mitt trotted it out and that audience didn't balk at it, and he then ran on a "makers vs takers" theme.
If you want to talk about words being twisted and distorted, how about Mitt's entire "You built that" campaign theme, which was built entirely around a twisting and distortion so naked that the ghosts of Soviet Pravda editors raised their vodka bottles in salute.
I think it was an extremely fortunate statement: it cut completely through the firehose of horseshit he was spraying throughout the campaign.

(12,051 posts)and no one else, saying exactly what he said. Did we dumbos just take it wrong? Don't think so. The smarmy superiority we glimpsed when Ann/Mitt tried to 'connect' with us 'takers' came through loud and strong when he talked to his buddies. That was no accident. That's how you really feel, Mitt, and it's obvious to anyone with a modicum of English proficiency. At least have the guts to own it.
But no, it's more important to keep being a lying scumbag in a vain hope that you will get a VP slot in 2016, or something. Jesus.

That is the question.
Is he fronting, or does he think he can worm his way on Jeb's ticket and push out Chris Christie?
