If you are to take Senator Kintner of Nebraska at his word. My post is where the GOP stands. I realize my post is a repeat but it bears repeating. If this kind of policy is where the country is going, then why do we even need a military. If we refuse to take care of the most vulnerable and turn our economy over to the vultures we have destroyed ourselves.
Bin Laden will have won with the kind of attitude displayed by that Nebraska politician. And the voters there are told they were expected to be civil. Screw that, he should have been verbally pilloried on the spot.
WHAT THE HELL DID I SPEND A YEAR IN VIETNAM FOR AND WHY HAVE ALL OUR SOLDIERS SACRIFICED? If our becomes what that bastard said then all the lives lost are a waste. We are better than that as a country.
I do believe that this senator voiced exactly what the GOP leadership believes. And I do not understand the lack of fury over such revelations.
Thanks to Omaha Steve - But this story needs to go national.

(8,159 posts)Most of their base is on Medicare and they could care less. Most have no idea what is going on in government, they vote repug because they always have.
It is scary.

These vicious billionaire fellaters all need to be tarred and feathered when they so cavalierly suggest we all crawl off and die politely so we won't cost the sainted rich any of their money in taxes.

This country is becoming a monstrous shadow all because of fear, first caused by terrorists but now completely manufactured for the sake of a corporate fascist agenda.

(20,729 posts)exactly. what are we supposedly defending? the right to be exploited and kicked to the curb if you're too sick/old/crazy/ to work? the right to be frisked at checkpoints, surveilled in your personal communications and droned if you dissent?
