No It's Not The Onion:Ted Nugent degrades female contestant, dismembers chicken his new reality show

Last edited Wed Mar 6, 2013, 11:43 AM - Edit history (1)

For those of you who aren’t regular viewers of The Sportsman Channel, video excerpts from Monday’s debut of Ted Nugent’s reality show “Wanted: Ted or Alive” were finally published online Tuesday evening courtesy of the progressive watchdog group Media Matters.

It turns out the National Rifle Association board member and longtime southern rocker’s ideas for televised entertainment are just about as strange as you might have imagined.

The rules of the show appear to be an odd mix of “Survivor” and “Fear Factor,” with a little bit of “Animal Planet” thrown in for good measure. At one point Ted actually chases contestants around a field in some sort of modified golf cart, shooting them repeatedly at close range with a paintball gun as he brags about all his expert warrior training with every federal agency he could list.

When a female contestant won what appeared to be an American flag relay race of some kind, Nugent remarked: “She’s a humper!” and “The she-beast beat the he-beast. How cool is that?” He followed those classy lines up with, “Nice work, wild thing. Nice humpage,” and insulted a male contestant who placed second behind “wang dang sweet fucking thang.”

It got even weirder when he forced everyone to watch him smash a live chicken’s head on a rock and slice it open on camera. “It’s almost like being a mother and refusing to change your child’s diapers because it stinks,” he said. “This is so good. This is so good for you… I want you to see the beauty of this.”

Nugent apparently signed with The Sportsman Channel after his show “Ted Nugent’s Gun Country” was canceled and The Discovery Channel said they refused to work with him anymore.

---Watching, I was sort of stuck that all they need was explosive collars on the neck of the contestants and they'd might have a real winner here....----

I got and then gave an autographed copy of, "Kill It and Grill It," (the experience is a fun read, I think, but I want to get to the point) to my as-conservative-as-Ted-but-vastly-saner brother-in-law, who also hunts both with a gun and crossbow (and lives in Kansas). He hadn't really heard of Ted that much except for music since he's more of a country music listener, but he thanked me profusely. I saw him a few weeks later when I was back in town visiting, and I asked him how he liked it. "Jamie," he said in an exasperated tone (my name is James, but he still refers to me by my childhood nickname), "I thought it was some kind of... (struggling for a description) 'drug' humor that I wasn't getting until I saw him on an ESPN show about hunting and discovered he really is just a really big moron. (wanting to say something nice so my feelings wouldn't be hurt - I didn't care) The recipes look good though." Equally conservative sister chimed in with, "He's all talk but doesn't do anything."

And that's not a term I use lightly. That man should not be seen as something to aspire to by anyone, anywhere, anytime. Sweet Jesus.

the edge of the rabbit hole.

Look at Hannity, Beck...they are viewed by a good portion of the populace as "real" journalists.

I think TV still has yet to plum the depths of depravity.

Everybody will have a horse in this race eventually and the most disgusting will win the rating wars.
The media sure has become the message .This guitar (owner) will keep surfacing as long as his outlaw biker funding doesn't run out.

but fled like a chickenshit coward when called up to be part of America's best.

Nuglut is one of the biggest losers I've ever seen. He is the perpetual spoiled child and has no idea what honor or integrity mean. Thankfully he is mostly harmless.

Well not to chickens...evidently that is the only thing he is not scared of.
