Ten Years After singer Alvin Lee has died at 68

Alvin Lee, former lead vocalist and guitarist for British band Ten Years After, has died after complications from a routine surgical procedure, his official website announced Wednesday. He was 68.

In Chicago; I'm pretty sure it was the International Amphitheater (saw a LOT of concerts there in the 70's).

That man could really play guitar, and put on a great show that night. After two encores the lights came on but my group of friends refused to leave and continued to make a lot of noise, banging chairs and doing the Woodstock chant. More people joined us, and after several minutes the lights went out and Mr. Lee & Ten Years After came back on stage and did a third encore.

I'm gonna have to dig out some old LP's and listen to some great guitar this evening by a rock'n'roll legend.
