Just PaY The Two Dollars - Obama Reminds Me Of The Lawyer In The Old Film Skit That Came Out Of
vaudville. Let me know if anyone has ever seen this skit. Was a skit in the movie Ziegfield Follies - Actor Joe Faiola.
You have this mousey man on a bus and he spits in the aisle and is immediately arrested by a cop. The fine for such an offense is $2. A lawyer steps in as says -"I will get you off this phony outrageous charge. They go to court. Judge says "30 days". The man says "Just pay the $2." The lawyers says, "Baloney I will get you off. The next court judge says, "Guilty 10 years". The man says, "Just pay the $2". Lawyer says, "Baloney I will get you off". Next court judge says again, "Guilty Life in Prison". Man says, "Just pay the $2." Lawyer, "This is an outrage, we will appeal". Next judge says, "Guilty, you are sentenced to hang!." Last view of the man. (Shadow of a noose in the background). Man says, "Just please PAY THE $2"!!!!!!!. Lawyer says, "This is a complete outrage we'll appeal!"
My point is that I voted for Obama and I generally like him but he scares the hell out of me every time he reaches out to the GOP scum. Based on previous performances on other issues, I would not want to spit in the subway.
The the fact that he proposed a commission headed by two essentially RW politicians for grand bargain that was rejected was a mistake in the first place. The fact that he may push the Dems into voting for something that might get them killed at the ballot box is scary. It reminds me of Clinton splintering the Democrats and pushing them to help the GOP pass NAFTA cooperating with Gingrich, then the Dems lost the House after 40 years.
Anyway the skit I mentioned is one of the funniest skit done in movie history. it is a particularly cynical description of lawyers.
