Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsCan someone explain something about Jan Brewer's PAC - JANPAC?
Here's the page with what appears to be a message from Governor Pointy-McFinger:
http://janpac.com/email/email.php?ID=9
Yeah. Yeah. The letter is just, well, awful but that's not what I need explained to me.
What I need explained concerns the disclaimer at the bottom of every page on "JANPAC":
©2012 JAN PAC. Paid for by Jan PAC and not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee. www.janpac.com
I realize this site is "PAC" as opposed to a "SUPERPAC" but just the same, is Jan Brewer allowed to directly solicit funds for this PAC? Is she getting away with it because she's not currently running for office? If the PAC isn't there to raise funds for Jan Brewer or to endorse any current candidates, then what are the monies raised used for?
And most of all, how is donating money to a political action committee that isn't endorsing Jan Brewer, helping Jan Brewer stop Barack Obama from declaring himself King of America's Governors?

(20,885 posts)1. I think the rule is that she can't tell them what to do.
That's it.

So she can solicit funds for them?
Will those funds eventually be used to buy airtime/print supporting her without directly supporting her?

(20,885 posts)3. Not sure what she can do openly.
The rule, as I understand it, is they can't coordinate.
