McCain: All Rand Paul's stunt did was fire up impressionable libertarian kids in college dorms

Speaking on the Senate floor Thursday, Sens. John McCain (R-AZ) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) tore into Sen. Rand Paul’s (R-KY) “ridiculous” 13-hour filibuster, chastising the junior senator for a speech that was “not helpful” and not in keeping with Republican orthodoxy on the terror war.

<...>

McCain also quoted from a Wall Street Journal editorial that mocked Paul. “If Mr. Paul wants to be taken seriously, he needs to do more than pull political stunts that fire up impressionable libertarian kids in college dorms,” the editorial jibes.

Still, McCain emphasized that “if someone is an enemy combatant, that enemy combatant has nowhere to hide: not in a cafe, not anywhere.”

You gotta admit, that's kind of funny.

able to do.

It is scaring the hell of out the old line GOP stooges and pisses them off that he 'dared' go around them while capturing the headlines for a least a 24 hour news cycle.

Rand is all over the airwaves as I type.

We should all be delighted!

And the WSJ was correct. These amateur dorm room libertarians, whose parents pay for everything they do and everything they have, are totally fired up.

serious about politics.

Once you have had your first not self inflicted orgasm, all the libertarian Ayn Rand stuff just doesn't seem so plausible anymore.

Also, McShame's attacks are usually personal so I wonder what went on behind the scenes? Or maybe it's just as simple as McCain being a loyal warmonger. Either way, they're both idiots and I hope they're defeated soon!
