Breaking a rule to discuss my locked "Hunters are terrorists of animal world" post from yesterday!!!

I owe the DU an apology. Hopefully people will understand. It started yesterday when I got an email from the Animal Liberation Front. Yep I'm on their list. I have posted items in the past that weren't so controversial. Usually it is news about animal abuse or activity's of the group. Yes some of those are illegal. A post I made 4 months ago was a warning of federal agents knocking on ALF members doors in California.

It is normal for me to post animal abuse stories. These are from the last 10 days. http://www.democraticunderground.com/10022477100 http://www.democraticunderground.com/10022448056 and http://www.democraticunderground.com/10022439757

I should have stated the post was an email that INCLUDED the photo. There was no link in the mail that could be posted to a dupe of the mail. So I grabbed a link to the opinion piece. Unfortunately that page didn't have the photo from the ALF mail. I mention this to reply to a juror #1 on the vote to lock the post: Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT and said: If it had just been a straight copypaste from the original site I would vote to leave, by by adding the last violent image separately the OP is taking ownership of that message - and it's not one that belongs on DU...

Here is the original mail as sent out by ALF: http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/681/frompressofficepressani. Since the post was locked, to view the complete email add jpg at the end of that link.

Here is a post of mine also from yesterday about irresponsible hunters: http://www.democraticunderground.com/10022476898 BOTH posts were meant to start communication.

I have no complaint with legitimate and responsible hunters. The deer in our area are such a problem, the state has had to offer special bow hunts to thin them out. Not only are they a driving hazard, they jump into windows of homes etc. We have them in our yard almost daily. Unfortunately my next door neighbor has to drive 25 miles one way for deer because he isn't a bow hunter. He is a responsible hunter that uses the meat for food. They have friends come over for a butchering assembly line.

If you've seen my picture, you know I'm no vegetarian.

Again I should have said up front this was from an email and wasn't meant to cause so much controversy, and left the photo out.

An open apology from Omaha Steve

Without hunters deers would overpopulate and do huge ecological damage, we need hunters.

while death from starvation because the food supply is gone is slow and agonizing.

Then again, I haven't viewed Bambi favorably since I caught Lyme disease.
