'The Greatest American Hero' Marta and I met him today

We waited in line for about 45 minuets. It was well worth it. He took time to talk with every fan that went up. Not aloof at all. It didn't matter if they were buying his new graphic novel "Sparks" or not. He posed for photos, signed autographs, answered every question, remembered everybody's names, and more. We bought ($20) "Sparks". We also had him sign the cover to our DVD of "House" It was the photo of "Baby: Secret of the Lost Legend" that got him talking non-stop. Trivia about Patrick McGoohan and behind the scene secrets. We talked about how our 3 kids were all just the right age at the time. He thanked us for bringing back memories of something he didn't get to talk about much. Below isn't the photo we got signed. If I get time to scan it tomorrow, I'll post it. That is Patrick in the white hat.

Comics store to welcome 'The Greatest American Hero'

Who could it be? Why, only the greatest American hero, that's who. William Katt, star of the TV series “The Greatest American Hero” and the movie “Carrie,” will appear from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Krypton Comics.

Katt is also attending the Omaha Film Festival to promote a new film based on the novel “Sparks,” in which he plays the masked superhero. He co-created the comic with author Christopher Folino, who also will autograph comics.

In addition to the signing, the Red Cross will have a 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. blood drive at Krypton Comics, 2819 S. 125th Ave.

I loved a scene in the first episode (pretty sure it was first) where the young boy was telling him how to fly, since he had lost the instruction manual.

thank you so much, steve, for sharing this with us. brought back some nice memories.

(some years ago (well, quite a few, now) I was in one of the local bookstores, and fabio was scheduled to do a signing. the staff told me he had been very nice to them, very polite and considerate. at the time stated for the end of the signing, there were still about 50 people in line. his agent tried to get him to shut down, as he was scheduled to have dinner with his publisher up in denver. he refused, saying that his fans had put him where he was, and he would not disappoint them, and his publisher could just wait a while.)

Marta and I met John Sebastian back in the mid 70's. He was opening for a new comedian that had been on Saturday Night Live a couple times. Who would have thought that a Woodstocker would be warming up the house for Steve Martin.

Welcome back,
Your dreams were your ticket out.

Welcome back,
To that same old place that you laughed about.

Well the names have all changed since you hung around,
But those dreams have remained and they're turned around.

Who'd have thought they'd lead ya (Who'd have thought they'd lead ya)
Here where we need ya (Here where we need ya)

Yeah we tease him a lot cause we've hot him on the spot, welcome back,
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.

William Katt's parents were actress Barbara Hale (Della Street on Perry Mason) and actor Bill Williams (Katt). Thanks for the update on his current pursuits!
