Paul Krugman Declares Personal Bankruptcy (not)

For those curious, here is the original satirical piece that Breitbart and Boston.com and others reposted as news.

It is very dry satire... but certainly not something anyone would think was real who didn't really, really want to believe it.

It is also rather dumb satire because it relies on a distorted view of what Krugman believes. But the premise is a little bit funny... a macroeconomist applying macroeconomic theories to his personal finances.

..."I still defend my analysis that on the macroeconomic level sovereign debt crises can be fixed by increasing government borrowing to lift aggregate demand. I admit, however, that on the microeconomic level this strategy has failed spectacularly."...

That is the point of publishing easily debunked crap, so the echo chamber can nod their head to the beat. From now on, every right wing wacko will quote his "Bankruptcy" as proof he isn't an economist.
