I fear what I think I am seeing as long-term Republican strategy

First off let me say that I honestly do believe that there is such a thing as long-term Republican strategy; their successes have been too frequent and too many in the last two decades to be the result of happenstance.

I think they have purposefully sent buffoons to Washington with no care for what damage they might do on a national scale but more for their ability to divert attention from activities at the state level. Do you know what the difference between UFOs and stolen elections in the United States is? While there is no credible evidence at all for the existence of UFOs there are many people who believe in them whereas while there is ample evidence that elections have been stolen here no one seems to believe it. Republicans have learned they can steal elections in the states and more importantly they have learned that they can more effectively impose their version of moral authority over the commoners by action at the state level rather than at the national level. So they send idiots to Washington to draw attention while they eat away at the fabric of society like a bunch of moral termites in the individual states. Once again, I have to believe that this is not happenstance, it is the result of careful planning and execution, and it grows worse by the year.

And worked their way up. They have now taken over several states and are working on several more.
The purpose of the assclowns in WDC, is to prevent Congress from getting their act together enough to rein the states from running rough shod over its citizens. It is working very well.

Every meeting i attend for fundraising this issue goes completely over the heads of the guests and hosts. They are more concerned with getting recognition for their fundraising from the party leaders. I seldom attend anymore. Tell me I am wrong...

or promising to appoint his horse to be a Senator? Wasn't that a way to mock the Roman Senators to show how little power that they actually had?

How much power do our politicians actually have?

When we helped elect a majority in the House of Representatives in 2006, it turned out that Nancy Pelosi didn't have the power to even allow an impeachment hearing. When we elected Obama, it turned out that he didn't have the power to close Gitmo. Even recently, Senator McCaskill (D-MO), an opponent of TSA-theater, had to let herself get felt up by a TSA employee as a condition to flying on an airplane.

It may be that the super-rich, including the international super-rich, have been sending buffoon Republicans with other politicans to Washington for their own amusement.

I trust the American people are not as stupid as its politicians.

So how do stupid politicians get elected?

And it's not like elections have never been tampered with.
