Did the 112th House actually do anything BUT try to repeal Obamacare? Here's a nice statistic.
The Repbulican House was sworn in in January 2011, and held a total of 328 days in session. During that time they tried to repeal Obamacare 31 times.
So...they tried to repeal Obamacare about once every 10 days they were in session.
Did the Republican House do anything BUT try to repeal Obamacare for the last two years?
Now here's the interesting part:
They've already admitted they lost the last election because they underestimated how important universal health care was to the working poor, most of whom would have no insurance otherwise. So, this just begs the question "what are they trying to accomplish by continuing to bash away at Obamacare?"
Who is this strategy actually POPULAR with? Just the hard-core Republican base. Obviously these short-sighted House Republicans are more concerned about keeping their
safe Congressional seats than they are about winning national/presidential elections.
Once again the weakness of the modern Republican Party is revealed. They don't care about winning, they don't care about governing, and they don't care about doing anything to help their constituents. They only people they're interested in pleasing are a handful of extremists that show up to their PRIMARIES, so that they can keep their nice cozy job in their safe Congressional district.
