Do you think there should be a liberal equivalent of the CPAC?

I voted Yes, but in all honesty I think it would be as contentious as META Hekate Mar 2013 #3
I constantly have that in my head, arguing with myself. nt Comrade_McKenzie Mar 2013 #4

But everyone would be afraid to attend. People of importance anyway. Nothing scares a Democrat more than being called a liberal, with few exceptions.

Where after every few sentences someone speaks we complain about how they worded it and why a jury didn't turn off their mic

Or maybe only as contentious as DU -- way too much squabbling, not enough agreement on framing the message, designing tactics, or simply coming together to get things accomplished.

The Republican Party likes to choose their leaders and their platform early on. A reason for the chaos of their last Presidential campaign is because they had a long Primary process despite organizations like CPAC annointed their leaders,.

The Democratic Party has historically been a party of coalitions. Inviting potential frontrunners to repeat simplistic slogans, no matter how much the base would like it, is no way to choose leaders. The long primary process weeds out the worst candidates, without them being held to what they said in a private straw poll.
