(1 post)The Republican Party likes to choose their leaders and their platform early on. A reason for the chaos of their last Presidential campaign is because they had a long Primary process despite organizations like CPAC annointed their leaders,.
The Democratic Party has historically been a party of coalitions. Inviting potential frontrunners to repeat simplistic slogans, no matter how much the base would like it, is no way to choose leaders. The long primary process weeds out the worst candidates, without them being held to what they said in a private straw poll.
