What is Obama playing at? He knows there is no way Hill repubs will accept new taxes

They won't budge no matter what he offers them in cuts to entitlement programs. So why this intensive and time consuming Capitol Hill offensive? What is his endgame here? I honestly don't have a clue. Does he hope to get some political muscle by looking willing to compromise? What could that achieve? Does he simply want the republicans to get even more of the blame than they already are?

knowing full well that nothing good will come of this congress so if he can hang any and all things possible that are stupid and or bad around their necks is good policy now.

I don't even understand your question. Obama has operated like this from day one. Nothing has changed.

That the Repubs are doing not much more than stonewalling. Even with jerrymandering, they could be vulnerable in places that have enough reasonable constituents.

Eisenhower, (Eisenhower tried to improve SS not mess with it), maybe he really wants to get rid of the New Deal and this is his opportunity. I shudder to think of it, but think of it I must, to make sense of what he's doing.

. . . this has always been an intensely political challenge dealing with the republicans. Hardly surprising to find the WH employing a political strategy to define and isolate the republican party as obstructionists.

The Democrats need to stop calling it tax hikes and focus on closing loopholes, raising capital gain rates, stuff that the majority of people agree on and will still have the effect of raising taxes on those who can afford it while leaving the rest of us alone. Enough pubs have come out in favor of closing loopholes that it's a no-brainer to call it that.

Though the situation may have morphed from hope and change to cope and strange, the game is afoot!

You see, the umpteen-dimensional chess was just a precursor to the magic to come and it is now merely a diversion! This is so brilliant that it remains under the radar. Stealth transformation is underway!

Word has it that the strategy is now utilizing the advanced, and highly effective, Quantum Probability Imperative. This is an ultimately effective method whereby Obama manipulates hyper-dimensional variables in order to usher-in a virtual utopia that will far exceed the meager expectations of a Golden Age.

We all need to believe really hard right now, (as observers effecting the outcome) while our president focuses intently and puts forth all of his mental qbits with literally, each movement and moment of his being so that, by 2016, the next president will function merely as a fortunate custodian of a wonderful and brave new world.

Part of the probability manipulations being performed are evident in just how ridiculous the Republican's are behaving. You see, they are oblivious to the QPI being focused intensely on them It is truly amazing. Just wait and see.

Oh, don't go telling them about it. The cat has to stay in the bag.
