House Republicans emerge from their presidential lunch confident Obama will move forward with the pipeline.
WASHINGTON President Barack Obama indicated during his lunch Wednesday afternoon with House Republicans that he would approve the Keystone pipeline, Rep. John Carter told reporters.

(32,095 posts)If they pipeline doesn't get approved, they'll transport it by rail, as they're doing on other tar sands oil routes already. That shit is going to come here and get refined, and eventually burned, regardless of what Obama does.

(57,936 posts)Sorry, but that's the way he is. He presents himself as a liberal, but he is far more conservative than most Americans.
He is still a much better human being and far more liberal than say a Romney. He is probably the best we can get until a lot more of us get out there and get active.
When I say active, I mean getting out and talking to voters. Take some information -- a handout on an issue like the pipeline -- and go to your local Farmer's market. You can stand on the sidewalk. Go with just one friend and talk to voters. Know your facts and be ready to talk about them. Be gentle. Don't expect everyone to agree with you. Just let those who do know that they are not alone. That's how you educate voters. That's how you build a political force. It isn't aggressive. It is one issue, one voter at a time. It will take many, many of us to do this.
