I know, I know - the only people some trust with guns are the military, cops, and rich old white men who can afford to hire security with guns and everyone else in the US is a potential terrorist/killer.

But some of us don't let what the few do dictate to the many.

I don't own a gun - but I do have a horse in the race. It is called freedom to choose and make choices that affect me and my life without other people trying to tell me how to live because of their fears/religion/beliefs.

And when dialogue on issues becomes 'go fuck yourself' well...we have lost the ability to intelligently discuss core issues (like what causes people to hurt others - poverty, mental issues, alcohol, hate, etc).

But those are hard issues and I realize not all are able to talk about them as adults. So let's just call each other nuts instead.

I find that debate degrades to that level when someone has run out of meaningful things to say.

a domestic house cat "in a physically aggressive / agitated state" could make a tough guy/gun freak think twice about his toughness. Or, at least make his sensitive parts wish they hadn't come across the 'working end' of a feline's claws (weapons). Others might not get what I mean, but I think this is great on several levels.
