Happiest and most miserable states

http://money.msn.com/investing/happiest-and-most-miserable-states

Residents of Hawaii are the happiest and healthiest in the nation, according to an annual national survey. But which state’s residents are the most miserable?

Of the 10 states with the lowest well-being scores, eight are located in the South. This has been the case since the survey began.

I can't help but look at this politically. With the deep Red South being the hardest place to live largely due to it's lack of a safety net and the way it treats it's poorer inhabitants.

Either that or it's the humidity.
