The great Titan Atlas was hijacked by Ayn Rand...

The mythological history of Atlas diverges significantly from the hysterical, stupid ramblings of Ayn Rand.

Atlas fought with other Titans to depose the Olympians, who had previously won rule through overthrow, during the War of the Titans. As punishment for the failed rebellion, Zeus and the other victorious Olympians condemned Atlas to stand and keep divided his two ancestors, the deities Heaven (Uranus) and Earth (Gaea).

Regardless of the common misconception that he was holding up the "world", his story is much more an allegory for the workers than the "self-made" billionaires who get rich off the suffering of the proletariat.

Just like Atlas, the workers are the ones who have the burdensome task of keeping the sky from falling. If they were to shrug, life would end. And that is just one more destructive and tragic aspect of Ayn Rand and her greed. Somehow she managed to reach her disgusting paws into history and warp mythology to suit her hatred.
