Christa Parravani - Christa Parravani, at right, with her twin sister, Cara. Caras rapist struck every person who ever loved her, Parravani writes.
In my twin sisters rape, there were many victims
When you hear or see a story about rape or read a statistic about sexual violence against women, multiply the number of people harmed. Be conservative, if you must. Assume that two other women loved or depended on each woman or girl who was violated. So, for one rape, three are injured. And one in three women are assaulted worldwide. So, whats that?
Three in three women are harmed.
Three in three women are harmed.

(9,527 posts)2. This book was really good
I just finished it yesterday after hearing about it on the New York Times' Book Review podcast.
The author walked the fine line between giving the reader enough information to understand the brutality her sister suffered without making it feel voyeuristic.
It's a really heavy hard book to read. But knowing that the author has gotten a happy ending is really nice to finish the book.
