North Korea declares war on South Korea?

I am so, so glad that no-drama-Obama and not Romney is the President now.

http://www.rferl.org/content/north-korea-war/24942900.html

North Korea says it has entered a "state of war" with South Korea.

A statement carried by state media said, "As of now, inter-Korea relations enter a state of war and all matters between the two Koreas will be handled accordingly."

The statement attributed to the North's government bodies and institutions added: "The long-standing situation of the Korean Peninsula being neither at peace nor at war is finally over."

The 1953 armistice brought an end to fighting in the Korean War, but the two Koreas have technically remained at war.

Tensions in the peninsula have been high since Pyongyang’s third nuclear test last month.

What is driving this now? It needs to be left alone. This is bad, look back at what was going on:

But, they have also watched many decades of this type of posturing. They are probably attuned to what is pro forma saber rattling and what isn't. They certainly have a front row seat.

You mean the one that yielded 6 Ktons? That was no nuke, it was a dud. A small nuke is on the order of three or more times that power. Plus, even if it did chain react -- doubtful at 6 KTons yield -- a static nuclear test does not mean that NK has a deliverable weapon, let alone on board their missiles which have a decided tendency to go awry of their target.

I am worried about the situation, but not about nukes on missiles... At least not DPRK so-called nukes on DPRK missiles. The damned things would probably hit Pyongyang before they hit Soeul, even if they're aimed at Soeul.

However, I am sure that the lights are burning bright in the White House tonight. As they should.
