Nasa Mars rover Curiosity in threat to quit Twitter, destroy Earth

Mars rover Curiosity has threatened to quit Twitter after receiving abuse from trolls on Earth.

Nasa’s Mars Science Laboratory saddened its 1.3million enthusiastic followers with a series of tweets explaining recent abuse from a vocal minority had become too much to bear.

‘Here I am, working 24.6/7 for no pay, without any hope of ever being allowed to come home, and all the thanks I get is tweets telling me to “eat dust”, and calling me “wheel brain”,’ it wrote.

‘Why do I even bother? I’m working my CPU off for the benefit of all humanity, but still people accuse me of looking like one of the droids Luke Skywalker rejects in A New Hope.’
