Iran, North Korea, Syria, the NRA and the US Congress vow to oppose UN Arms Treaty

Iran, North Korea and Syria oppose the UN Arms Treaty:

Not surprisingly, the only three countries that voted against it were Iran, North Korea and Syria.

The NRA and the US Congress also oppose the UN Arms Treaty:

The powerful pro-gun U.S. National Rifle Association lashed out at the treaty hours after its approval. It said that the treaty’s inclusion of what the NRA calls “civilian’’ firearms “threatens individual firearm ownership” as guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.

The Senate voted 53-46 on March 23 for a nonbinding amendment to its budget resolution calling for the treaty's rejection.
Supporters said they were worried it would infringe on U.S. gun rights.

President Obama and most of the rest of the world approve the treaty which seeks to keeps arms out of the hands of human rights abusers.

So Iran, North Korea, Syria, the NRA and the US Congress (mostly Republicans) are on the same side.

This is how radical our Congress has become. The Republicans in Congress, along with the help of a few spineless Dems, are now on the same side as Iran, Syria and North Korea.

Does this treaty in any way conflict with the 2nd amendment? That's apparently the biggest concern opponents of it have.

Unless there are some type of safeguards or assurances that it does not conflict (and supporters have done a terrible job on informing the public on this)...it will never, ever pass the Senate. The Senate has no business ratifying a treaty that conflicts with the Bill of Rights. Regardless of your feelings concerning the 2nd amendment, ratification of that kind of treaty would set an extraordinarily dangerous precedent.
