No ones eyes are that large as a percentage of head size except maybe the stereotypical alien. That's all that matters to me. It's ludicrous.

by the time she is 5 years old. The brain washing begins very early.

But my daughters were never given them. We steered away from them as much as possible, but also they were never denied to play with them if their friends had them. But we always talked about it seriously and jokingly. They ended up pretty OK with self image issues... I hope. One of my daughters got one from a friend and she played with it for a couple of days, then it was back to unicorns. I don't see it around anymore.

I think how we talk about it matters most.

My daughter is 7 and plays with Barbies (they aren't her favorite toy), cars, other dolls, legos, she used to play with my older son's trains, plays tag, rides a scooter, plays Minecraft, watches River Monsters and she is fine.

Most of the boys gravitate to her in her class as she usually talks about "boy stuff" because of her older brother. She has a best friend that's a girl who is over our house all the time. They play with their American Girl dolls and all of the above.

She's not "brainwashed", perhaps those that criticize should take a look at themselves.

I should go through their rooms right now and do a sweep and throw away all of their toys, because who knows...my son's Batman figures might brainwash him and his original Cloverfield monster figure that he wanted so badly and cost $300...I have to admit the thing is wicked cool.

That's a great Mom!
