He ushered religion into politics, where the various religious groups got an important say in elections and in government policies.
He ushered the "greed is good" into economics, where mergers and acquisitions caused so many to lose their jobs.
His "voodoo" economics changed the landscape where moving money around without producing anything created its own lucrative rewards. Instead of entrepreneurs and innovators taking risks and losing or being rewarded, Wall St. bankers and lawyers became the new class of super rich - win or lose.
It was in the 80s that we started seeing the gaps between the average and highest salaries in the same employer: from 40 to 400.

(115,838 posts)Instead of dancing on the grave of a really awful dead president - or even offering legitimate criticism - we name airports, roads, schools and parks after him. Because he was a real American who loved freedom, which is way more important than other stuff.

(11,304 posts)I hope they rot in hell. However, I don't think it is right when ANYONE dies that we should take such pleasure out of it. After they are buried and given sometime then you should feel free to voice your opinion. It's creepy.
