1. Yet bombs are illegal to make and possess. And this attack still happened.

We could ban all the guns tomorrow, yet these rare incidents of mass-violence will still happen.

I'm not sure what the solution is, but passing more restrictive laws clearly isn't the answer.

Bombs are illegal, guns are not
Bombs are rare, guns are not
Bombs have no defensive uses, guns do

5. Guns are used to stop crimes. Bombs aren't

Satire has to be funny; this is just a reflex along the lines of

"The only thing that stops a bad guy with a (insert bad thing here) is a good guy with a (insert bad thing here)."

When has a bomb ever been used to stop a crime?

Ooh! I've got one!

"The only thing that stops a bad guy with a Chained CPI is a good guy with a Chained CPI!"

Isn't it funny?!

...to read that far, (along with reading the rest of your posts) very strongly suggests that YOU are all about the cheap shot.

If you knew anything about me an my opinions on this subject at all, you'd know: I was 100% for registration of all firearms; and the liscencing and competency testing of all owners. I've argued for magazine capacities of 5 or less and also for integral magazines which cannot be swapped out at the push of a button.

I've expressed opinions that the vast majority of gun related "accidents" are anything but, that their root cause lies in incompetence, stupuidity and machismo.

11. Notice all the weepy whining about your spoof on the NRA from our "pro gun progressives"*:

they simply won't tolerate any snickering about their hero Wayne LaPierre!!!11

They love that guy all the way to the GOP bank - and beyond.

Again, well done satire. The fact that the NRA fans on DU are upset you for this OP says you're doing something right.

Post was strictly satirical, but was interesting to watch the responses of the NRA sympathizers. Cue the NRA trolls…

Mass has very strong gun control laws, and this bombing happened.

'Course, if he pulls that shit someone should slap the taste out of his mouth; they found a significant bomb in Spokane on MLK Day 2011 that didn't kill anyone because the only thing that stops a bad guy with a bomb is a government employee.
