Knowing that your vote is wrong, knowing you are causing harm, knowing that 90% of the people don't agree with you. Would you take money knowing it's wrong?
I personally couldn't take a million dollars for my dog. He trust me without question and I could not betray him for money. That might sound stupid but that is how strong my convictions are.
I have never had a million bucks so I wouldn't miss it anyway is the way I look at it. But I couldn't live with myself knowing my dog was waiting for me to return. So how can a politician take a bribe when dealing with children lives and think it's ok?

(16,038 posts)the NRA doesn't have enough money to buy everyone needed to do anything...I suspect it has far more to do with the volume of calls the Senators were receiving...probably 10 to 1 against..regardless the reported 90% approval (which I find a little optimistic) if they were receiving volumes of calls from those opposed and few from those in favor, they did what they felt they had to do to keep their seats..
If the NRA had half as much power as is affixed them, they would be much wealthier than they are..4 million members of NRA and 100-150 million gun owners..

(6,907 posts)its just a matter of where the line is.
For some the line may be so extreme that it doesn't really seem like they have one, but ultimately they would.
I wouldn't give my dog for a million dollars, but I'd giver her for one of my children.
That sort of thing.
Not saying that this is equivalent to the senate vote, I'm just saying.
