Take a break from the week's harsh reality and have a FRee laugh on me.

In FR they have an open profile system where anyone can click on a user name and read their story. This particular Freep spent untold hours assembling a platform for if he ever ran for the White House. You won't believe it until you read it:

If called upon to serve, I would be happy to be your President.

I believe that I would make a very good President of the United States. Not that I am going to pursue that office on my own as I have no stomach for the grueling campaign that is necessary these days, but if the people of America were willing to forgive me for not running a conventional campaign and elect me on my merits, I'd gladly serve and give 100%. With respect to my comment on my reluctance to campaign in the conventional way, I should remind you that George Washington felt the same way and never actually campaigned himself. I have a lot more in common with George Washington also.
Over time, I will post my platform here in detail but for now, I offer the basics of my platform below and will revise, expand and edit as I see fit. I look forward to serving as your president someday.
Taxes - I believe that the tax burden should be shared disproportionately by our citizens. Those at the lower income levels should pay a higher tax rate wheras those at the higher income levels should be paying a progressively lower tax rate as they move up the economic ladder.
I will be posting some proposed tax tables later but for now, allow me to illustrate my point with two imaginary taxpayers. One taxpayer earns an income of $30,000 a year and the other taxpayer earns an income of $300,000 a year. Well, under my system, the person making $30,000 a year should pay at a 33% rate and the person making $300,000 a year should only pay at a 7.5% tax rate. By the way, those tax rates are simply for shock value and for the purposes of explaining my plan. Actual tax rates may well be significantly less than that as I intend to shrink the size of our federal goverment enormously (with the exception of the military which will be explained later).

Burn after reading so this doesn't fall into the hands of an actual candidate.

On edit:
If it moves along too slowly for you, scroll down to the 32 lane highways or the part where he issues his own calandar with 13 months.

being instituted, since it is so regressive! I just can't bring myself to get dirty, so I will not click the link, but I think I have read enough.

I am sure that this person will be called up to be president when pigs with lipstick fly. That is, if we are lucky.

but I'm just curious how this "moran" thinks that a person making $30K and paying 33% tax would ever move them into a position to be able to earn $300K and paying a 7.5% tax.

I've often heard those people talk about everyone having the opportunity to get richer (it's always about money with them), but doesn't it stand to reason that the less you make the less you would pay in taxes which would eventually allow you to invest what's left over and eventually become one of the people in the upper income brackets?

I guess I'm just rambling, but I don't understand this at all.

I put it off because I felt a little bad putting this up, but it's just too funny to keep to myself any longer. The 13 month year with "Midsummer" added and how we're going to "invite" Mexico and Canada to join the union after they swear to our constitution are priceless.

And you thought the tax plan was screwy. You haven't seen the half of it.

The part about campaign financing. $25 per month for a maximum of $300. Then, s/he elaborated:

Example: Candidate Jane Doe is running for president. She may accept campaign donations from individuals up to $25 a month for a maximum of 10 months (in which the $300 maximum will be reached).

That's some good math right there.

He's the president, not a freakin' calculator.
He'll be busy signing up England as the 67th state.

I'm not sure how the four truck lanes on the right of the twelve interstate traffic lanes, but to the left of the four local traffic lanes, can have their own exits. And the cheap labor prisons in the median with the hotels and restaurants is obviously brilliant, because according to our next president, having them there will make escape more difficult.

I could go on and on. Thanks so much for posting this.

Edited too fix smartphone spellcheck fail.
