(13,390 posts)C'mon - jokes disabilities are demeaning and pretty sickening, really.

(9,236 posts)so i speak from experience- not out of poking fun.
dialing a telephone number or writing out a credit card number are horrific tasks for me- i have to speak it out loud twice, first to "get it" and a second time to "check it". and i almost ALWAYS get it wrong. it SUCKS.
gimme a break.

(13,390 posts)except I also think it is offensive to hear African Americans use the "n" word.
It may not be offensive to you, but it's too bad it doesn't matter to you when other people who have dyslexia hear it from classmates, co-workers...

(9,236 posts)you're dealing with issues that are way above my pay-grade. best of luck with those.
with all sincerity- if my posts or sense of humor offends you- PLEASE put me on your block/ignore list.

(37,648 posts)Your joke was self-deprecating humor, and was, in fact, funny (unlike a lot of jokes). And it wasn't negatory humor.
It's getting to where people can't say much of anything humorous these days without giving offense to someone, or even someone on behalf of someone else!
For some reason, I wrote my name backwards for a time when I was a child and learning to write. But I don't think I had dyslexia, since I excelled at reading, and once I learned how to write properly, it stopped. Weird. My Mom found out about my unusual issue with writing when I wrote with a crayon my name, backwards, on the linoleum floor in the bathroom, starting around the toilet, then out the bathroom, down the hall, through the den, and out the side door. There my name was, written backwards in crayon, the whole way. When my Mom angrily asked me who wrote that, I blamed it on my younger sister! (as if she would write MY name, backwards no less....that is, assuming she had miraculously learned to write overnight, since she was a toddler)

(18,133 posts)In this part of the country when we are talking fast we say R instead of OUR.
So it's OUR MONEY, as in stolen from...
OUR wages.
OUR salaries.
OUR taxes.
OUR benefits.
OUR pensions.
... And pocketed by the likes of Mitt, Bain and the rest of th 1%.

(14,040 posts)Mitt "RMoney" Romney
If you use RMoney is conjunction with Mitt 'Rmoney' Romney, then Google will start picking that up. Kinda like the whole Santorum thing.
