A gold selling company (National Gold Group) has radio ads attacking President Obama...

...and preaching fear to sell gold. I just heard it on SiriusXM's MSNBC feed.

The ad named President Obama responsible for ruining the economy and said you should buy gold to protect your future.

So there we have it. Companies selling products and politics in one package. Outright.

And I thought Gold tanked?

Why are you upset with a gold company that is trying to promote a system of protecting your hard earned assets with an administration that continues to spend money we don't have... We will soon have a $16 trillion defeceit. Gold has performed much better than the 1% guys that run wall street...last time I checked gold is up 504% over the last 10 years. I buy gold every month... Because gold is money....National Gold Group is a great company...I also rolled over my Ira into gold...Obama or Bush....all politicians spend to much and raise taxes to fix the problem!!!!!!!

Yes, this country has run up huge defecits primarily under rushpublican regimes...giving tax breaks to the rich and waging two illegal wars without funding them. They supported the deregulations that led to the massive balloons that went bust and drove millions into bankruptcy.

So we buy gold and hide under the covers and all problems will go away? Sounds more like a Paulbot's solution.

BTW...I have gold...bought it when it was at $35 an ounce...and not planning on selling any time soon.

I have to be honest with you... I am a democrat .. But all politicians are corrupt...I lost all the equity in my house and my Ira is down 29%.... If it wasn't for gold my daughter would not be able to go to college... I also bought gold low.... At $350 an ounce... Today it's trading at $1750 an ounce....I don't know where to park my assets??????? So I keep doing what has worked for soooooo many years.... Which is diversify my assets and keeps buying gold.... I think it's going to $4000 an ounce...... Keep your eye on Europe collapsing and Iran .... If Isreal strikes Iran oil will be $200 a barrel overnight and gold will soar... God help us all .... God bless America !!!!!!!!!!

You are right...both parties are responsible for the economic messes this country is in and they fight fixing the problems as they rely on the high rollers who fund their campaigns. But that's just one symptom of a system that has fallen apart on its own largess and is just starting to collapse. Without re-regulation and holding those who attempt to corrupt the economic systems accountable we may see things change, but this country has become so politically polarized and dysfunctional that any real positive action is difficult at best.

I follow economics closely and stayed away from the "get rich quick" investments that looked too good to be true and we later found out weren't. Many loved those real estate and European funds as the biggest gambling casino and everyone who got involved went bust...including, sadly, many who saw their mortgages go upside down and investments dwindle away. I'm sorry to hear you were among the victims, but if the rushpublicans prevail the prospects of any "middle" class recovery can be forgotten.

Best of luck to you and welcome to DU...
