Mountain Dew Drops Lil Wayne After Pulling Tyler The Creator Ad

Pepsi’s Mountain Dew had a rough week, having had to drop Lil Wayne as their spokesperson right after pulling Tyler the Creator’s controversial goat ad.

Lil Wayne may have released a poor apology to the family of Emmett Till for his offensive lyrics in the “Karate Chop” remix, but that wasn’t enough to save the rapper from being dropped as the official spokesperson for the beverage.

Lil Wayne’s face has been plastered on every major Mountain Dew ad and the commercial featuring him encouraging others to “Dew You” is played on major TV stations every five minutes. All that is about to change.

Rappers are simply unable to get away with inappropriate lyrics if they are backed by a major company such as Mountain Dew or Reebok.
