Check your settings. If you delete cookies every time you close the browser, it won't log you on to DU.

and then re-opening it later and needing to log back in.

I lose my log-in right in the middle of being on DU. For example, once I hit "reply", I could click on another post and find myself no longer logged in. It's totally random. It once happened to me right in the middle of being in the jury process!

Have you tried using another browser? If you hate Internet Exploder as much as I do, try Chrome and see if the same thing happens.

Something is causing your cookies to crumble very quickly.

And I have never once NOT been logged in when I first open my browser to DU - it's my home page, so it's where I immediately land once I've gotten online.

It only happens while I'm in the middle of clicking around DU. I'll click on one post and all is normal, then the next post I click on I'm suddenly not logged in.

If it were a browser problem, wouldn't the problem show up on other sites where a log-in is required?

This has been going on for 2 -3 months - I'll be browsing along through DU, and at some point, the next page I click on I discover I'm no longer logged in.

Today alone I've had to re-log in at least 5 -6 times. Other times, I've gone days or weeks without it happening.

I've been assuming it had something to do with my own computer, or my crappy dial-up connection. But if it's happening to you, too, maybe it's a problem with DU.

I'm definitely going to bring this up in ATA - would you mind if I mentioned your name, too?
