Following the Columbine High School massacre, Moore acquired a life membership to the National Rifle Association (NRA). Moore said that he initially intended to become the NRA's president and dismantle it, but he soon dismissed the plan as too difficult

Background checks, many do not own assault weapons and do not hunt with assault weapons. I imagine many are happy in their lives and do nit feel the need to own assault weapons.

Their voices and votes don't add up to much though. And they are demonized on liberal and democratic forums so they get it coming and going.
