C'mon DU, This Kid w/Autism Could Use A Random Act Of Kindness (no $, just kindness...Got Some?)

Last edited Mon May 6, 2013, 07:13 PM - Edit history (1)

Weslee Lawrence is a young man who has severe autism and seizures so bad that he has not been able to leave his house for three months. He is about to have two major brain surgeries to see if that will help with the seizures. He loves movies and his mother has gone to the news, asking the public to write to Weslee and tell him all about their favorite movie.

C'mon DU, let's put our pens to paper and some stamps to envelopes. This kid deserves a few random acts of kindness. I say let it start with us. The kid is 15 so keep that in mind.

I'm finishing up "reviews" of my TWO favorite movies, so that might take up some slack. Buns_of_Fire May 2013 #8

A nice discussion of why it is my favorite childhood musical.

Hey! Don't knock it! Chitty was sleek as a thoroughbreed with seats like a feather bed!!

"We discovered some time around November, December, January that when we leave the house for some reason he has a seizure, one of the bigger seizures," said Weslee's mom Vikki Lawrence Williams. "He stopped going to high school, we stopped going to the library, doing errands. We only leave mostly for doctor appointments, if we absolutely have to or if we're absolutely stir crazy. Knowing that when we come back home, he'll have a seizure."

Okay, so the two are "Plan Nine From Outer Space" and "Frankenstein Meets The Space Monster" -- but I'm leaving out the seamy details of Bela Lugosi's nude scenes.

And yes, I kept in mind that he's 15, so I also omitted any words that polite society would dictate I use any asterisks in.

And will do...

I guess a review of...Lincoln would be ok.

Yes I know, he is 15, but the movie is age adequate. (Just barely)
