MSNBC - Get rid of Morning Joe!

Not the show, just the host.

Joe Scarborough is a distortionist, a liar, a dishonest partisan, and is not the "balance" you pretend him to be.

What does he choose to report? Some bullshit on Politico about Mike Huckabee saying that this President would not serve out his term. In other words, he would be impeached or he would resign? Then he went on a rant about Al Gore's hypocrisy with oil stocks. He had no problem with pollution or oil stocks, only Al Gore's hypocrisy. He didn't say how much "oil stock" Al Gore owned? Then it was Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi. There will be some very "embarassing" facts come out with this investigation and hearing, he says. What "embarassing" facts does he know about? Or is he only hoping and wishing. To top it off, he is going to have his friend, Mark Sanford, on his show in hopes he can give him one final shove over the finish line in his race down in South Carolina. This is the guy that spit in the face of SC voters and his former wife by standing on the platform after his primary win with his mistress!

Well, what is wrong with that? We have Lawrence O'Donnell, Rachel Maddow, Chris Mathews, and the whole "liberal" lot in the evening. What is wrong with having a "different" viewpoint in the morning?

The problem is the lying and distortion. Truth just happens to have a "liberal" bias. You cannot balance it with any amount of lies. It is not a difference of opinion. It is a deliberate effort to distort and confuse the audience with stories and lies for political advantage only. There is no redeeming quality in this morning host named Joe. Get rid of his ass!

Tue May 7, 2013, 08:25 AM
May 2013

Sounds like MSNBC accomplished its mission.
Which was to piss you off.
Makes you more susceptible to the advertisements.
Not necessarily the ones on the show, just advertisements in general.
Pissed off people tend to want to salve the pain of living on planet contradiction by purchasing consumer products. And people who get pissed off at the TV machine and then yell about it on the interwebz probably aren't going to, you know, actually do anything worthwhile about it anyway. Go shopping! Drink coffee!!

They also accomplished their mission of getting you to type in the words "Morning Joe" and MSNBC into the Google Box. Adds value to those words every time you do it. And, you typed the words "Lawrence O'Donnell, Rachel Maddow and Chris Mathews" as well. BONUS!!!

Keep up the good work!
I'm sure MSNBC, and the rest of Corporatia appreciates your efforts.
And just so you know? Those other words you typed - "distortionist, a liar, a dishonest partisan" etc... They couldn't care less what you actually think about their product. Just as long as you keep typing those keywords! Money!!!

And that notion of "having a 'different' viewpoint"?
Now you're just being silly!
There is no "different" viewpoint!
It's ALL the Corporate viewpoint!!!

They get you silly proles fighting each other over whether the "People's Front of Judea" or the "Judean Popular Front" is the one true carrier of the true truth, and then you don't notice that MSNBC's shareholders are the very people who have stolen your future from you. It's really very clever and you've fallen squarely into the trap. Congrats! Hope you enjoy this latest word from our sponsor...

Woo-hoo!!!
Drink COFFEE!!!

It doesn't matter if you consume the particular products being hawked during that particular show.
It only matters that they've made you feel like shit about yourself and the world so that you maybe buy something, anything. And it only matters that you keep yelling at those passing clouds so that you don't STOP buying something, anything. You're doing GREAT!!!

You're playing into their game.
Joe's argumentiveness has rubbed off on you, and that argumentiveness is a very important component of their corporate agenda. Almost as important as the buying of crap that you don't really need, as that is the component that pays the bills. Are you a member of the Popular Front or the People's Front?

Look, you're one of the good guys, and nobody likes being told that they are part of the problem.
It wasn't my intention to piss you off even more. (well, maybe a little)
But what you have done in the OP is EXACTLY what Corporatia wants you to do.

TURN OFF THE FUCKING TV MACHINE and stop talking about these jokers!
That's the real power you have, if you choose to exercise it...

I listen to MSNBC less and less on the drive to work, but I now I'm at the point of turning it off.

Scarborough is especially aggravating this morning, and his browbeating, bullying and constant interruption of Mika got old a long time ago. And you could hear the glee oozing out of him as he talked about looking forward to the long (his word) house hearings on Benghazi.

Note to MSNBC: you don't want to leave your loyal audience annoyed to the point of where they shut you off. If I wanted to listen to a conservative ideologue, there are better options out there.

It's time to fire Joe and change the name of the show to Mornings with Mika or the like.

I love the evening hosts, but Morning Joe seems to be a holdover from MSNBC's identity crisis years.

It was like his absence caused an obnoxious deficit and he had to compensate in one show.

I record the show, so I can fast-forward through a lot of BS and only watch what interests me. Sometimes he ruins the parts that interest me though by dominating the conversation and cutting people off. The show would be fairly balanced without him and would go more smoothly. He must drive his producers insane.

Personally, I have no interest in wasting electricity on yet another show that just rehashes the national debates over nonsense without bringing anything new to the table. I might watch local news to see which county legislator is being indicted this week, but usually listen to the dreaded NPR in the mornings.

My view of "news" might be a minority one, but I get the news to learn new stuff, not to have my own opinions justified.

The coroner ruled the death was accidental. The woman was in the office alone, and suddenly collapsed for no obvious reason, striking her head on the desk and getting a fatal aneurism.

With the coroner not ruling it a homicide, there was nothing further that could be done.

That coroner was later fired for falsifying his resume. He also recently died somewhat suspiciously.

I watched the program for a year or so after I retired, it began to wear thin, eventually I started watching Bill Press, Current TV. This slides into the Stephanie Miller show, topics with humor. The evening lineup is good with the Young Turks and several other programs of substance.

was cable TV. So the last time I've watched anything other than a few sad segments of local news was 5 years ago.

Then, two years ago, we decided we had it with our morning ritual of inane local news - so we take our breakfast in our front (sunny) room and talk about the day or do crosswords or sudoku or catch up on email.

So throughout our entire day, we watch TV one hour at most, typically something on PBS. Our TV is just our Netflix disc movie player 98% of the time.

If you plot our morale, spending habits, and well being against the hours watching TV - especially pre-2008 - the difference is staggering. And, thanks to DU and a few other websites, I feel no less informed.

I realize it is not for everyone, but just wanted to share what we do..just because.

But if no liberals watched these shows, how would we know what they were lying about? And if they are lying and no one is calling them on it, how is that good for the Democratic Party come election time? Of course, if you go to the Internet or DU to read about it but no one is writing about it, who is receiving the disinformation? Isn't it a lot like intelligence within the covert community? Don't you have to have counter intelligence in order to keep a more realistic balance?

I could agree that they suck. But I am not convinced that the best way to handle it is to simply ignore it. Personally, I only watch enough to understand what shenanigans they have planned to make our lives worse. I don't like to be in the dark.

I'm doing something similar more and more. Netflix gets quite a bit of my time. I read a lot more. Once I realized they were mostly all corrupt and interested in their bottom line, and not the middle or anything other than the corporate class, it was really easy to say goodbye to most of the news media. No where is this more evident than in the lack of interest by them in the lack of jobs. No focus, no nothing. So, why should I watch their propaganda?

Lawrence O'Donnell, Rachel Maddow, and Chris Mathews may stick to facts on the subject matter. The problem is the subject matter. They are so busy pointing right that they never point at the center. The banks and Wall st are still screwing us and they pay a drop in the bucket in fines.

Make them pay 75% of what was stolen. That is the only way they will stop stealing.
Or nationalize the banks.

Tue May 7, 2013, 11:33 AM
May 2013

You are supporting the very system that puts people like Scarborough and Limbaugh on the TV and radio.

Stop listening and watching the commercial stuff. We don't need all those ads.

Use the internet sources for your news. Starve the beast or at least don't support them with your money.

Get a special piggy-bank and put the money you would normally spend on the corrupt news media in it. Donate that money to internet media of your choice. That's how you can help get Scarborough off TV.

Ranting will not change MSNBC's line-up. All of us, as a group, canceling our subscriptions to corrupt media would eventually change things.

Because you cannot find another place that this viewpoint is posted, I don't thinK? I guess I just like to know what is going on. I don't like to be in the dark. (Not that there is much light from the show) But it is correct that you will probably be a much happier person if you don't watch this crap. The anger and depression is the price we pay for being more informed. Then we can post about it so everyone else does not have to watch it. And if a tree falls in the forest and there is no one there, we won't even know it fell and it won't even matter...

we'd only see the close up of a pore on his face instead of the studio set.

Mika doesn't help much of the time, either. I think she's actually pretty smart, yet instead of speaking up, she wiggles in her chair, acts uncomfortable, frowns, etc. I don't watch often, but it seems pretty rare to me that she gets in Joe's face when he's outright wrong.

Dump Joe and let Joy Reid host the show with Mika, they can call it "Morning Joy" and even use the same graphics, just change one letter. Guaranteed better show!

so who will replace him? Stephanie Miller who would draw in viewers simply with her looks (lets remember this is TV) and, dare to think, offer an alternative at "the water cooler" aside from the rest of the media ....basically repeating the Fox News lead.

No we get Joe because we just can't have people leaving the house with anything other than the conventional wisdom.

When that happened I realized the level of the news bubble that we live in.

facts, he sounds more like those on message boards, maybe like this but it is mostly right-wingers who seem to know all that is going to come out of this. Most know this is the right operating in fear mode, they have known for some time that Clinton may run & grabbed on to this to try & smear her if they could to stop her from running.

There really are not too many on the Morning Joe I care to watch, in fact have stopped for some time now. Mika is not that interesting, a lot of who they have on are useless & uninteresting characters. I am a leftist so I know I am biased but I still want truth & not the made up stuff. Besides, I have never understood how we allow a President to get attacked & smeared the way President Obama has & it is still going on.

Sorry for the rant.

I agree with this post about Morning Joe aka joe Scarborough. I have stopped watching it . Joe whines like a spoiled school kid . He has been curt and sarcastic to guests he doesn't'agree with.
His hubris is nauseating. The person who says he lies is correct. He will use any ploy he can to discredit people he doesn't like . This morning it was al Gore .
It amazes me how hard up msnbc must be to keep him on. Frankly other than Mica most of the regular males on the show seem like flunkies who need a job.probably know producers and got hred as a favor. Willie Guiest..... I read his daddy has pull got him on tv

I had in on last week when Joke was going off on Senator Cruz for repeating things said during the republican meeting. The things he said made himself look good and the other senators look bad. Joe went nuts saying Cruz was lying about repubs but not about democrats. Typical. Cruz was a scumbag for talking about Joe's friends, but Joe made sure to slam all dems in his rant about what a liar Cruz was.
