based on some erroneous reporting from other news agencies--meaning, that Pres. Obama and his admin "lied" about what really happened. Which was, the news coming in wasn't exactly factual and that was reported. When facts actually started coming in, the story changed.

There's something about Ambassador Stevens' personal diary as "proof" and then one of the victims' father went on Faux and presented it all as a cover-up, urged on by Faux reporters. No one on the right mentions that they denied funding for more security personnel.

John McCain then jumped on the bandwagon giving it "legitimacy" in the eyes of the right.

They claim that if the attack was seen as a terrorist attack that would somehow hurt him politically.... Why?? Obama never said the war on terror was over. In fact it seems just the opposite. If the war on terror is over why does he keep shooting people from drones?

Furthermore, how exactly can a major incident like this be kept undercover? There were hundreds of witnesses and drone videos.. anyone with half a brain knows something like this cant be kept secret. Many involved would be risking their careers if the "truth" ever came out. It makes no sense what so ever.

The GOPers are desperately grasping for a scandal that simply doesnt exist.

An African American President who has a popular record on national security matters was in office when an American Ambassador was killed by an acknowledged terrorist attack. While this was occurring the Director of the CIA was busy squeezing and worrying about his illicit affair with a subordinate. A washed up and embittered Senator who lost the election to the current African American President allowed himself to be used by the Party who implied at one time he fathered a biracial child as the front man for a racist attack on the African American President and the candidate he chose (also African American) to be the successor to a very popular Secretary of State. After the current Republican candidate for the President embarrassed himself he abandoned this ridiculous charges in the Benghazi incident. The only reason anyone mentions this now is because the popular Secretary of State plans to run for President in 2016.

I've listened to the stuff that McCain and Graham were pushing back when they were working feverishly to ensure that Susan Rice wouldn't ascend to SOS post and I still don't quite understand it. Some of the gist of it- I gather- is that President Obama, SOS Hillary Clinton, et. al sat around playing tiddlywinks while the consulate was being attacked and didn't lift a finger to stop Amb. Stevens from being killed and/or refusing to approve additional funding (that, ironically- or maybe not so much- Republicans themselves cut) for security. As is clear with any event that occurs, the first initial reports tend to be incomplete and inaccurate and things change based on additional information (i.e. whether it was a planned terrorist attack or the attack evolved out of a protest) but Republicans seem to believe that any shift of the story after the fact indicates some kind of cover-up or conspiracy. They are now alleging that the Obama Administration is intimidating State Department whistle-blowers, which is the subject of Issa's hearings tomorrow though when pressed on Fox News (of all places) this past weekend one of the Republican Congressmen making these accusations couldn't point to a single example and is relying on the allegations of previously discredited Republican lawyers, so we're pretty much left with either a VAST Obama Administration conspiracy that Issa will crack open hard tomorrow or none at all (take your pick, Occam).

The Republicans are directly to blame for Benghazi, but they are trying to pass the buck. Repubbies routinely go AWOL when it comes to responsibility.

2. Discredit Obama to hide that the questions they raised about Susan Rice were all bogus.

3. Discredit Hillary to keep people from realizing Repubs were lying all along.

They would never mention the Pentagon report that says the incident started at 9:42PM Benghazi time, 3:42PM ET.

I agree that this is merely an attempt to damage Hillary and from what I have read, the testimony of these three men will not establish any chain of responsibility that can be traced to Hillary or to the President.

To play the devil's advocate, the chart showing the deaths during Bush's tenure has been refuted by the republithugs on the following two points:

1. Most of the deaths are not of americans, and of course republithugs care nothing for foreign lives.

2. They will make the point that at least Bush did not try to "cover up" these attacks. After all, remember that the crux of their "case" is the alleged coverup of Benghazi.
