What I think this one area saw was a proliferation of right leaning non-profits. From the one report I heard this evening, there were over 200 new NP's conservative organization registered with the IRS since the 2010 election. Only one office was involved in the actions. I think someone saw an opportunity to make a name for themselves.
BTW, the director of the IRS was appointed by George W. Bush. No one other that a few top people are appointed the rest of the people and they do not take any part other than overseeing budgets. Most employees are Civil Servants who are hired on how they do on the tests or have a proven private sector job history.

(5,756 posts)You know, just as well as anyone else, that this was a conspiracy directed from the top by Obama himself. Obama, that evil, muslim, commie, socialist is out to get the God-fearing Tea Party and other patriots. (I think I just puked in mouth a little when I typed that - sarcasm or not).

Every criminal cries foul when he is investigated. Why should the criminal organizations stealing our Democracy be any different?

(7,318 posts)push to marginalize the tea party's influence in the Republican party. Wouldn't surprise me if this Bush appointee was sympathetic to their cause and acted on it using the means within his power.
