America where a fortune 500 company can sue to make you sell your land. Needy women be damned.

This place was a safe haven for woman, but not anymore because of a greedy insurance company. They kept suing until the owners had to sell because they could no longer afford to go to court. And now the safe haven will become a boutique/hotel.

and the home returned to the non-profit, permanently.

And use Kasich's house as a toilet.

now it seems the 1% are determined to eliminate the needy using means just shy of outright murder.

The 1% has and does use every means at their disposal to get what they want, and straight-out murder has always been one of the most reliable tools in their box.

There's nothing new about this incarnation of the perpetual class-war.

But I think it has been 75 years or more since they were last this open about it. Or,perhaps they were always this indiscreet, but we didn't have the tools to keep us informed. I do know that our acceptance of this behavior is why, as a nation, we are sinking fast.

The first book by John Perkins, Confessions of an Economic Hitman was, IMO a groundbreaking work. I don't know of any earlier first-hand account that names the names and recounts specifics like this.

Americans in general just don't want to know about this kind of thing.

and now it is forced to move to a neighborhood that will be more conducive to these women falling back into harm's way...and we should be okay with that? Because some corporate powerhouse wants something, we should just cheerfully surrender it?

and I am beginning to feel ever more guilty that I have not said or done more to protest these abuses. Ultimately, it is 'we the people who are responsible' Past generations risked their lives on picket lines and in protests. We write our worthless congress critters.

Company CEO John Barrett has long said it was time for the women at the Anna Louise to leave the neighborhood to make way for economic development. He plans to turn the building into a boutique hotel and envisions transforming the neighborhood into a hub of activity with restaurants and bars.

"This truly is a win for everyone and will make Lytle Park a destination like no other," Barrett said in a Monday news release announcing the Anna Louise sale.

Barrett, who has repeatedly declined requests for an interview, has become a loathed figure at the Anna Louise, not only for his tireless efforts to acquire the property but also for the way he has talked about the women living there, repeatedly referring to them as recovering prostitutes and saying they just don't belong in the neighborhood.
