Thanks for nominating an even nuttier fuckwad for Lt. Governor than for Governor. Democrats and liberals and just plain old nominally sane people are appreciative that you nominated a guy that makes Aiken look rational and middle of the road.
Terry McAuliff must be thrilled.

(114,904 posts)against these nutcases and McAuliffe is not a novice at playing political hardball. Plus, he's already pulling ahead in the polls.

(1,568 posts)There's a Gov. there now who graduated from Pat Robertson's U.. What's "ammunition" to some is just more reality they will completely ignore.

(114,904 posts)not to mention the reality that this won't go over well with independents. At all. And there are a lot of independents in VA. Missouri is far redder than VA. But whatever. Ignore the realities if you wish.

(23,238 posts)..that's not true in VA, so I suspect it will take a powerful ground game/GOTV to bring out the occasional voters that could win it for McAuliffe. These off-year elections are often decided by who has the more fanatical base, and I fear the Repugs may have that in VA. I hope my fear is unfounded, but we shall see.......
Nay
(12,051 posts)be elected -- the Democratic Party in VA is just a shadow, McAuliffe is ineffectual, and national Dems don't send any money to Dem candidates in the state.

(6,891 posts)hope the Cuccinelli/Jackson ticket will appeal to the traditional sentiments of antebellum Virginia by pairing a Gone With the Wind Confederate with his faithful Negro. The South has risen again here in Virginia, and that is something to be very concerned about.

(22,143 posts)I don't trust people. Too many certifiable idiots and crazy people hold office. Voters seem to like them for some reason.

(114,904 posts)There are a lot of Independents in VA and they are notoriously shy of voting for those they perceive as extremists of either party.

(103,856 posts)He's a funds-guy..a lousy speaker and looks uneasy in his own skin..
He raised a lot of money for the Clintons, but that may not endear him to the people who may show up to vote..
