Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsDoes Inhofe know the US Virgin Islands are in the US?
Inhofe's complaint about Sandy relief is that there was "stuff in there for the Virgin Islands."
Is he really too stupid to know that hurricanes travel up the coast from the Caribbean, that the Virgin Islands is part of the US, and that they were hit by Sandy?
Can a person that stupid actually occupy a seat in the US Senate?

Congress just isn't functioning as it should, and it's pretty clear the Republicans are the problem, because they're allowing the Tea Baggers to run the show. While this may eventually lead to a complete melt down of the GOP, in the meantime everyone else suffers.
To answer your question, yes Inhofe IS that stupid. He denies climate change, and I think he needs to resign or at the least not run for office again. He's also corrupt, and his voting record clearly indicates who he represents (not the people).
On second thought, maybe he isn't stupid, but the people who vote for him are. He seems to have gotten away with it so far. I hope his hypocrisy between supporting assistance for Oklahoma's natural disasters and not supporting assistance for the Northeast after Sandy eventually exposes him for what he is. He's getting a lot of negative press locally, so maybe it will open a few eyes.

(29,149 posts)so I'm not sure his objection to the stuff for VI was because he thinks it foreign territory. (That's not to minimize his stupidity, which is prodigious.)

(62,444 posts)Hurricanes are humongous events which spread varying degrees of damage along the entire east coast and inland areas from wind and flooding.
Tornados are intensely destructive events confined to a local area.
I don't think he knows the differences between the two.
