MSNBC on Sandusky: School kids are complaining "That man is out there..."

Michael Issikoff, just now on MSNBC.

Here's the full story:

Sandusky eyeing kids, filing says
February 08, 2012|ASSOCIATED PRESS

STATE COLLEGE - Prosecutors yesterday asked to have Jerry Sandusky kept indoors as part of his bail conditions, citing complaints that the former Penn State football assistant coach was seen outside and watching children in a schoolyard from the back porch of his home, where he is under house-arrest while awaiting trial on child-molestation charges.

The state Attorney General's Office argued in a court filing that Sandusky's bail conditions should be revised so that he is not allowed outside except to seek medical treatment. Prosecutors also oppose Sandusky's request to be allowed contact with his grandchildren.

"Several individuals from the adjacent elementary school have expressed concerns for the safety of children at their school and the adjacent neighborhood," prosecutors wrote. "Such concerns will only mushroom if defendant is permitted to roam at will outside his house."

"The commonwealth believes that the defendant should be in jail," prosecutors wrote. "He has been granted the privilege of being confined in his own home, which is spacious and private and where he can eat food of his own preference and sleep in his own bed at night. House arrest is not meant to be a house party."

Komen's $7.5 Million Grant To Penn State Appears to Violate New Policy

Susan G. Komen for the Cure, which recently announced that it is ending grants to Planned Parenthood for breast cancer screening because of a controversial investigation launched by an anti-abortion Republican congressman, currently funds cancer research at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center to the tune of $7.5 million.

Like Planned Parenthood, Penn State is currently the subject of a federal government investigation, and like the Planned Parenthood grant, the Penn State grant appears to violate a new internal rule at Komen that bans grants to organizations that are under investigation by federal, state, or local governments. But so far, only the Planned Parenthood grants appear to have been cancelled...

Really, it is better to protect child molestation institutions as opposed to protecting women's health.

Gallows humor.

Their hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Jerry Sandusky is wanted for like 100 counts of child molestation... To me this comes as no surprise that the school kids are noticing him watching them.

The article in the link was put there so DUers would have more information about the prosecutor's request. The article is not from MSNBC, it's from the Assoc. Press. As such, the OP is just fine, imo.

Children might well be complaining to their parents about Sandusky watching them and the parents are going public with their concern.

The man is a creep, full stop.

and given that he has been charged with heinous crimes against children, at least TEN children at this time, there is good reason for concern. Nitpicking about direct quotes being indicated by quotation marks is silly, imo.

The man is a danger to the community, imo, and he is damn 'lucky' he is only subject to house arrest at this time.

Because neighbors and school officials have both alerted authorities to Sandusky allegedly sitting outside and watching school children play, prosecutors are asking a judge to further restrict his bail conditions by barring the man from “leaving the walls of his house for any reason" other than to be accompanied by a court officer, according to court documents.
